Privacy policy
Short version: your data stays on your devices and your iCloud.
What Outback collects
Outback doesn't collect your data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and it doesn't send your information to me or anyone else. I don't run a server for Outback.
What stays on your devices
Your bookmarks, folders, history and settings are stored on your Apple Watch and iPhone and shared between them, and with the Outback widgets, Safari extension and share extension. Your bookmarks are also kept in your iCloud so your devices stay in step. That is your own iCloud account, and I can't see it.
The sites you visit
- When you open a page, Outback loads it straight from the site, as any browser does. The site sees your request, and its own privacy policy applies from there.
- Outback fetches a site's icon for your bookmarks and history from the site itself.
- When you search, your search goes to the search engine you chose, such as DuckDuckGo. Its privacy policy applies to that search.
- With Private Browsing on, Outback keeps no cookies or website data. With it off, sites you visit can remember you, for example to keep you signed in. Settings can also clear website data.
Open-source software
Outback's built-in renderer is made with open-source projects. Their licences are listed in Outback's Settings, under Acknowledgements.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, I'll update this page. Questions? Email outback@ozbe.dev.
